To the outside word, Noel and Johanna Locksley were never the type to settle down and begin a family. Both of them had blossoming careers, Noel worked as a civil rights lawyer in a firm based in San Francisco, and Johanna worked as a bio engineer at UC Berkeley. Both of them enjoyed their jobs, which often left them very busy, and they never seemed to have the time for each other, let alone a kid. However, in reality, that was not the case. Johanna was having difficulty getting pregnant and two rounds of IVF had left her with a stillborn, a miscarriage and a heavy heart. Neither of them wanted to go through it again, it was too hard. However, they decided to try once more and once again, Johanna became pregnant, only this time, three of the embryos stuck. Regulated to bed rest for the duration of her pregnancy, it was not enough as Johanna went into labour a month early. Matthew Angus and his two siblings arrived early morning, June 5th, 1991, one month early, underweight, with lungs that hadn’t fully developed yet. He spent the first month of his life in an incubator, holding on for dear life with two worried parents watching every fluttering move and beep on the heart monitor.

Finally, on July 10th, Johanna and Noel were able to take their sons home with them. As a toddler, and the youngest of the three, Matty although quick to learn to talk, crawl and walk, had his fair share of issues. Often sick, he spent most of his childhood in and out of hospitals with some form of the flu. He was able to take something as simple as a cough, and have it turn into a full bout of mono, pneumonia, or any other life threatening disease. The fact that he was asthmatic and allergic to penicillin, thankfully his only allergy, did not help either. Instead of being able to run around with the other girls and boys in his class, he had to sit to the side and watch them instead. But, he made do, instead turning towards academics as his savior.

And he excelled at them, finding school and everything about it easy. And he enjoyed it, loved it even. He loved the smell of a new piece of paper, cracking open a new book, opening a new pen, every new thing that he could learn, he would. He took to teachers easily, sucking up like the best pet ever and not caring who knew it. By the time he was twelve, it was obvious that Matty was intelligent, and he had the drive to match. He wanted to go places, he wanted to become the next Steve Jobs or Bill Gates and make his first million by the time he was twenty.

Of course, a lot of this changed when his Mother was offered a job across the country, one that she was unable to refuse. So, when he was fifteen years old, the family packed up and moved, settling down in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. It was an intense change from San Francisco, and it took Matty awhile to get used to it, although he managed to do so with more ease that he initially would have thought possible. Not much changed for him, he still worked hard at school, and still spoke his mind and didn't care who saw it. Although he had the marks and the ambition to go further, when it came time to go to college Matty balked, instead staying close to home, wanting the comfort of his parents, and his spare inhalers, there.

QUCKIES:

→ Full name is Matthew Angus Locksley, he has been going by Matty since he was a kid, although Matt, or even Matthew works just fine.
→ He's the youngest of three triplets, all boys. His two older brothers have similar health issues to his, although the severity differs among them. His brothers are Theodore James(Whitman) and Daniel Marcus(UCLA)
→ He is highly academically minded, and school will always come first to him, although he is just as likely to get homework done Monday through Thursday and then spent the weekend in a coma.
→ He has no alcohol tolerance to speak of, period.
→ He is highly sarcastic, cutting, he says what is on his mind, and doesn't hold back. He flirts with anything that moves and doesn't care who sees it.
→ Asthmatic, but only in cases of extreme physical movement. Walking, a short jog or a single flight of stairs won't kill him, but much more intense than those will.

Sorry about that, he's not signed on often, but sure thing. I'm pretty busy until after the New Years, but did you want to write or just discuss?
